The American Kennel Club’s CGC Program teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners. The 10-step Canine Good Citizen test is a non-competitive test. The CGC award is a prerequisite for many therapy dog groups. Some homeowner’s insurance companies are encouraging CGC testing. In order to pass the test, a dog must successfully complete all 10 exercises. This class does not include the test itself, it is a prep class. Testing can be arranged. Your dog must already have some training for this class, it is not a class for an untrained dog.
