Play in a box- Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Peter Pan! Each week your preschooler will get to explore the experience of being in a brand new play! At the start of the session parents will receive a list of stories. Every class will begin with reading that story and then bringing it to life. Students will get to take turns being each character, use imaginative skills, and learn basic narration skills! This class is taught by Wendy Avon.

Voice Lessons - 313011

This private course covers the basics of breathing, focus, intonation, vowels and vocal expression as well as reading music and rhythmic practice. Lessons can help build confidence, develop voices for lifelong singing and prepare for auditions. A variety of music styles will be covered. Time slots are 30 minutes per session. Students must be the minimum age noted or have instructor approval. The instructor will contact you individually to schedule lessons.
Please note the cancellation policy:
• If a student should notify the instructor more than 24 hours in advance of their absence, for any reason, the park district instructor will make every effort to schedule a make up lesson with that student. In the event that a make up lesson cannot be scheduled for notice given in advance of 24 hours, a credit will be applied to the family household for the missed lesson.
• If a student should notify the instructor less than 24 hours in advance of their absence, it is at the instructor’s discretion to schedule a make up lesson. In this event, the participant will be charged for the lesson.

Private Acting Lessons - 313015

Each 30 minute private lesson is structured to personally meet the needs of the individual student. Included in each lesson is audition coaching, monologue selection and preparation, character development and personalized tips on how to build and maintain confidence and stage presence. Theatrical Studies - 313018

Students will learn several different methods of theatrical techniques to help better prepare them for the various roles of theater. They will intensely study character development through improvisational games and sketch comedy. Students will also get an opportunity to sharpen their audition skills through practicing cold readings and monologues from several scripted shows. The session will conclude with a short observational performance to showcase what they have learned. NOTE: This is an advanced theater class-prior theater experience or instructor approval is required for enrollment. The instructor is Wendy Avon.

Our beginning violin teach the fundamentals of the violin including holding the violin and bow, rhythms and simple playing. Students must have a violin by the beginning of class and parents must be present. Each lesson is 30 minutes.

Guitar Lessons - 313051

Students of all skill levels and interests are taught the basics of guitar with instruction on chords, songs, how to read notes, time signatures and scales. Each lesson is 30 minutes, tailored to the level and interest of the student, and explores styles such as rock, alternative, blues, folk, jazz and classical. Guitar rentals are available through the Ultimate School of Guitar at 773-508-9443. The instructor will contact you individually to schedule lessons.

Children and adults together will learn scene work fundamentals such as sharing the stage, characters, body language, scene starts, comedy, listening, and acting. Build skills of confidence, risk taking, letting go of mistakes, and being more present as a family. We will explore full scenes and comedy show games while having fun and celebrating risk taking. Now everyone can get in on the fun with this improv workshop for families! *Registration is per child attending. Adults need not register. This is not a drop off program~all children must be accompanied by an adult. This program facilitated by Wendy Avon.

Acting Lessons 30 min - 513015

Each 30 minute private lesson is structured to personally meet the needs of the individual student. Included in each lesson is audition coaching, monologue selection and preparation, character development and personalized tips on how to build and maintain confidence and stage presence. Wendy Avon is the instructor~she will contact you to arrange the lesson times. Alternate days and shorter sessions available upon request.

Summer Improv - 513022

The fundamentals of improvisational games and exercises will be the foundation of this class. Self confidence, stage presence and the ability to turst in one self and others will be developed throughout the session. Preschool Performance Production - 513111

Your child will get the opportunity to experience what it feels like to be in a actual production. Students will help to create an original script that will bring all their favorite characters to life! We will have auditions, cast roles, learn songs, develop our theater skills, and at the end of the session have a short performance on stage for all family and friends to watch! This class is taught by Wendy Avon.
The performance will be held on August 7 at 10:30am in the auditorium at the Community Recreation Center. All family and friends are welcome!

Improv Troupe - 913001

Come have a ton of fun weekly in Improv Troupe!
In the Mini Improv Troupe class, we will be enhancing our improvisational skills weekly thru learning a series improv games that will be performed out at local venues in the area. This class is about building your child's self confidence, through the art of improvisation that will lead to stronger audition and overall acting skills. Mini troupe will perform 6 times throughout the course of the year throughout the surrounding communities and in house events.
In Improv Troupe, students will not only have the unique experience of mastering the craft of improvisation, but will also get to show off their skills with a variety of performing opportunities both in house and out in the community. Troupe members will have the pleasure of performing advanced improv games and original skits they have written, skills they will have honed at their weekly rehearsals.
Auditions will be held on Monday, October 9, from 4:00-5:00pm. Students are asked to perform a 1 minute contemporary monologue to audition. Original monologues are welcome. Please email wavon@wilpark.org to confirm an audition time.

Canzonetta Training Orchestra - 913081

Canzonetta is a community chamber orchestra open to all string players. The goal of Canzonetta is to develop musicians into artists through impeccable technique, elite artistry and the love of music. The orchestra is conducted by critically acclaimed conductor Hilel Kagan, assisted by Helia Schramm. Canzonetta allows students to simultaneously grow as individual musicians and as members of a group. Violins, violas, cellos and basses become skilled at playing in a string orchestra. The path is comprised of three orchestra levels: Training, intermediate and senior. Smaller chamber music ensembles compliment each full orchestra. New students must audition prior to registering.
