Music and Movement Theater - 413005

Students use storytelling, books, and songs as springboards to explore characters through structured, creative, and fun activities culminating in short scenes or skits created by the students. Through various drama, music, and movement, these classes also promote confidence, self-esteem, and creative expression, while working on skills such as active listening and sharing. Play in a Box - 413009

Play in a box- Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Peter Pan! Each week your preschooler will get to explore the experience of being in a brand new play! At the start of the session parents will receive a list of stories. Every class will begin with reading that story and then bringing it to life. Voice Lessons - 413011

This private course covers the basics of breathing, focus, intonation, vowels and vocal expression as well as reading music and rhythmic practice. Lessons can help build confidence, develop voices for lifelong singing and prepare for auditions. A variety of music styles will be covered. Time slots are 30 minutes per session. Students must be the minimum age noted or have instructor approval. The instructor will contact you individually to schedule lessons.
The spring music recital will be May 22, 2016 at 7pm at the CRC. More information will be distributed in May.

Acting Lessons 30 min - 413015

Each 30 minute private lesson is structured to personally meet the needs of the individual student. Included in each lesson is audition coaching, monologue selection and preparation, character development and personalized tips on how to build and maintain confidence and stage presence. Theatrical Studies - 413018

Students will learn several different methods of theatrical techniques to help better prepare them for the various roles of theater. They will intensely study character development through improvisational games and sketch comedy. Students will also get an opportunity to sharpen their audition skills through practicing cold readings and monologues from several scripted shows. The session will conclude with a short observational performance to showcase what they have learned. NOTE: This is an advanced theater class-prior theater experience or instructor approval is required for enrollment. The instructor is Wendy Avon.

Each lesson is 30 minutes, tailored to the level and interest of the student, and explores styles such as rock, alternative, blues, folk, jazz and classical. Theater Tech - 413110

Not all actors want to be front and center. In this class, students will focus on developing the basic tools and procedures for creating elements of technical theater including but not limited to stage elements and props, crew, box office and front of house, costumes and make up, sound engineering, lighting design, scene design, and stage management. Your child will get the opportunity to experience what it feels like to be in a actual production. Students will help to create an original script that will bring all their favorite characters to life! We will have auditions, cast roles, learn songs, develop our theater skills, and at the end of the session have a short performance on stage for all family and friends to watch! Piano Lessons - 513063

Studies show piano instruction enhances children's reasoning skills and can encourage self-confidence, poise and self-discipline. The teacher and students bond as a “music team” during lessons and this carries on at home during practice. By learning at their own pace, students will explore more key and time signatures, tempos, intervals, rests, etc. Beginning and continuing students welcome. Tuesday and Wednesday lessons are taught by Faina Farbman; Monday and Saturday lessons are taught by Dan Chase.
